Gaining weight!
So as of today Weston is weighing in at 2 pounds and 2 ounces (960 grams). When he hits 1000 grams we can finally hold him. I cannot wait for that moment. We can only hold him for 15 minutes a day, but still it is better than nothing, right? I enjoy sitting there looking at him, holding his hand, changing his diaper, etc. but holding him is just going to make it so much more real.
Weston sure is filling out and those cheeks are really getting fat! Most of nurses have a little bit of a crush on him. They just coo and ahh over him all the time. I'm beginning to wonder if they are going to let us bring him home or not. They are probably going to want to keep him for themselves. LOL!

Monday Morning NEWS!
So today I weigh 1 pound and 14 ounces. I'm so close to weighing 2 pounds. Mommy and Daddy cannot wait to get to hold me. They can finally hold me when I weigh in at 2 pounds and 3 ounces or 1000 Kgrams. They are only going to be allowed 15 minutes per day, but I think that they are so anxious to hold me that they will take any time they can get.
Today was not a fun day for me, but I didn't put up too much of a fight with the nurses or doctors. I had an ultrasound on my little brain again, an EKG on my heart, and a blood transfusion. So as you can imagine I'm a little mad and fiesty today. We don't know all of the results of my tests yet, so hopefully in the morning Dr. Nadding will fill my mommy and daddy in on my progress.
As for my blood transfusion - I look a lot pinker after it was finished. Nana sat with me while I received it and she said that I was really good. Don't tell her, but I think I already have her wrapped around my little fingers. LOL! They had to give me an IV in my scalp. It didn't even hurt although it sounds like it did. Nurse Cammie said that I didn't even squirm and that I get more upset when I get my diaper changed.
Well, I guess I should go. Mommy is going to spend some time with me tonight while Daddy works on his truck. I love mommys late night visits and I think she loves them as well.

Almost Friday....
Today was such a great day for Weston! They measured him today and he has grown a whole inch and jhe gained 40 more grams! So he is now up to 1 pound 14 ounces (840 grams) and is 13 3/4 inches long. I cannot believe that he is growing so fast. Hopefully mommy and daddy will be able to hold him soon. Dr. Nadding said he needed to be atleast 1000 grams to hold and hopefully we can convince him to do Kangaroo Care (skin to skin). Everyone at the NICU has been so nice and the nurses are AWESOME! We can really tell that they love their jobs and the babies.
I have had so many visitors this week. Lets see if we can name them all - Mamaw Robinson, Mimi and Papaw Weaver, Nana and Papa Gillen, "Aunt" Kristeen (lol), Uncle Tim and Aunt Melissa (Buddy and Rob came too but they arent old enough to see me), Aunt Melinda, Aunt Barbara Sue, Henry and Tmora Payne, and I'm not sure who I've left out but know that we appreciate all of the visitors. We especially love when Aunt Ber comes to visit because she brings me books and reads to me. She also brings me onsies that say "My Auntie is Awesome" and "My Aunt is the Best." LOL! She spoils him rotten.
We have received so many gifts from friends and families. We appreciate everything from everyone. This is one of the hardest things we have ever been through. Noone knows how hard it is to walk away from the hospital every night and leave your only child that you have grown to love and connect with throughout pregnancy - unless you go through it like many of our friends have. Thank goodness we have some friends to talk to - The Benjamins, The Franklins, and The Arnolds. They have all either went through it or are going through it. We have also enjoyed getting emails via facebok from strangers who tell us their stories. It's so interesting to me how each person has their own "preemie" story. I have enjoyed every one of them, especially when the outcome is great.

Wednesday - March 2
Everything is looking so good today. He has really filled out and seems to be blowing all of the doctors away by his progress. He now weighs in at 1 pound and 12 ounces, but he gets weighed in two hours so that could change. Hopefully he will weigh a little more. Mommy always tells him to "think heavy little man." Because at 1000 grams mommy gets to hold him. I cannot wait for that moment. He is currently 780 grams. So we aren't that far away. His stats seem to stay pretty good, but he does have a few apnea moments. They say he will grow out of it and its all due him being a preemie - so no alarm yet.
He seems to sleep like his mommy. He gets into a really deep sleep and leaves that little mouth open all the time. Mommy is getting pretty good at changing my little diaper. She tries to change it all she can so she will be really good when I go home. Daddy hasn't changed it yet, but we are working on him. LOL!
We met Dr. Nadding tonight for the first time. He is really nice and is very surprised with how well I'm doing. He gave mommy his card and told her to feel free to ask any questions. He checked my little booty and prescribed some zinc oxide to put on it because it seems to be getting a little chapped. Hopefully it will get better quick. Also, today at noon I was taken off of TPN (total parental nutrition), but I still have an IV in my arm just in case I need anything else. You never know because this is just a roller coaster and anything could happen from minute to minute.
Thanks for all of the prayers and continue to think about us, the Franklins, and the Benjamins. We are all working so hard to get healthy and well so we can come home. Can't wait till we can all look back on this day and laugh. I know we will all be good and strong one day. Have a great rest of the week everyone.

Monday - the start of another long week...
Weston had an xray taken last night because he was having some trouble with his breathing and the xray showed that he was not producing his own surfactant. Normally we all can produce our own, but when he was born he was given surfactant until we knew if he could produce his own. So, the doctors decided that he would give him some more surfactant (inserted into his lungs) to extend him for a little bit longer. He has not had to be put back on the ventilator just yet and is still on room oxygen. Hopefully he will continue to do better and eventually produce his own surfactant. He has gained back up to 1 pound and 9 ounces and continues to eat 7cc every three hours.
Tonight Weston's Aunt Melissa and Uncle Tim are coming to see him. He cannot wait to see them...he told me so. LOL! Well, I guess I'm gonna get back in here with my little man. Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Fun Filled Friday!
Today was a very eventful day for little Weston. He had an ultrasound on his brain to determine if there was any bleeding. He passed with flying colors. No bleeding and everything looks normal right now. They will probably do this test again in a week or so.
Weston also had many visitors today. First his Mimi came to visit around lunch and then Mamaw and Papaw Robinson brought mommy lunch and visited me. Then Aunt Ber and Kristeen came to visit me along with Nana and Papa. And finally my Daddy showed up to visit with me after work. Mommy visited with me all day long.
Tonight my nurse Brandy let my mommy know that I had lost another 10 grams so I now weigh 680 grams - which is 1 pound and 8 ounces. My feedings are at 5 cc every three hours so hopefully I will be gaining some weight soon.

Friday is a big day for little Weston!!!
So tomorrow is a big day for our little man! He is having an ultrasound in the morning on his head to determine if there is any bleeding in the brain. This is procedure for any baby born before 30 weeks gestational age. Hopefully there will be no bleeding! He is doing amazing! He has lost 2 ounces since Sunday, but this is normal as well for a healthy or preemie baby. He will gain it back soon enough because his feedings are up to 4 cc every three hours. He gets fed at 8, 11, 2, and 5 around the clock. He also likes his pacy - he just started to take it and seems to be able to suck on it pretty well. Thanks for all of the prayers! We are truly blessed to have friends and family members like all of ya'll!!!!

WWW
Weston Wayne Weaver was born this morning just before noon. He weighed in at 1lb. 11 oz. He was 12 3/4 inches long. He will be in the NICU for about 10-11 weeks but he is doing well at this time. Please continue to pray for our little man, that he will continue to be a fighter, his vitals will remain strong, and that he will continue to amaze us each day. He is our little miracle.
