Don't you love weston in his lil baby doll robe....little baby hugh hefner...ha

Gaining weight!

So as of today Weston is weighing in at 2 pounds and 2 ounces (960 grams). When he hits 1000 grams we can finally hold him. I cannot wait for that moment. We can only hold him for 15 minutes a day, but still it is better than nothing, right? I enjoy sitting there looking at him, holding his hand, changing his diaper, etc. but holding him is just going to make it so much more real.

Weston sure is filling out and those cheeks are really getting fat! Most of nurses have a little bit of a crush on him. They just coo and ahh over him all the time. I'm beginning to wonder if they are going to let us bring him home or not. They are probably going to want to keep him for themselves. LOL!

My IV in my little scalp...

Monday Morning NEWS!

So today I weigh 1 pound and 14 ounces. I'm so close to weighing 2 pounds. Mommy and Daddy cannot wait to get to hold me. They can finally hold me when I weigh in at 2 pounds and 3 ounces or 1000 Kgrams. They are only going to be allowed 15 minutes per day, but I think that they are so anxious to hold me that they will take any time they can get.

Today was not a fun day for me, but I didn't put up too much of a fight with the nurses or doctors. I had an ultrasound on my little brain again, an EKG on my heart, and a blood transfusion. So as you can imagine I'm a little mad and fiesty today. We don't know all of the results of my tests yet, so hopefully in the morning Dr. Nadding will fill my mommy and daddy in on my progress.

As for my blood transfusion - I look a lot pinker after it was finished. Nana sat with me while I received it and she said that I was really good. Don't tell her, but I think I already have her wrapped around my little fingers. LOL! They had to give me an IV in my scalp. It didn't even hurt although it sounds like it did. Nurse Cammie said that I didn't even squirm and that I get more upset when I get my diaper changed.

Well, I guess I should go. Mommy is going to spend some time with me tonight while Daddy works on his truck. I love mommys late night visits and I think she loves them as well.

I'm such a big boy that I get to sleep on my tummy now.

Almost Friday....

Today was such a great day for Weston! They measured him today and he has grown a whole inch and jhe gained 40 more grams! So he is now up to 1 pound 14 ounces (840 grams) and is 13 3/4 inches long. I cannot believe that he is growing so fast. Hopefully mommy and daddy will be able to hold him soon. Dr. Nadding said he needed to be atleast 1000 grams to hold and hopefully we can convince him to do Kangaroo Care (skin to skin). Everyone at the NICU has been so nice and the nurses are AWESOME! We can really tell that they love their jobs and the babies.

I have had so many visitors this week. Lets see if we can name them all - Mamaw Robinson, Mimi and Papaw Weaver, Nana and Papa Gillen, "Aunt" Kristeen (lol), Uncle Tim and Aunt Melissa (Buddy and Rob came too but they arent old enough to see me), Aunt Melinda, Aunt Barbara Sue, Henry and Tmora Payne, and I'm not sure who I've left out but know that we appreciate all of the visitors. We especially love when Aunt Ber comes to visit because she brings me books and reads to me. She also brings me onsies that say "My Auntie is Awesome" and "My Aunt is the Best." LOL! She spoils him rotten.

We have received so many gifts from friends and families. We appreciate everything from everyone. This is one of the hardest things we have ever been through. Noone knows how hard it is to walk away from the hospital every night and leave your only child that you have grown to love and connect with throughout pregnancy - unless you go through it like many of our friends have. Thank goodness we have some friends to talk to - The Benjamins, The Franklins, and The Arnolds. They have all either went through it or are going through it. We have also enjoyed getting emails via facebok from strangers who tell us their stories. It's so interesting to me how each person has their own "preemie" story. I have enjoyed every one of them, especially when the outcome is great.
